If there are libraries attached (like in FlyTampa or 29Palms sceneries) – their position in relation to the main scenery usually does not matter – to be safe you can place them above the airport. Put your airports on top of your scenery library. But there are some guidelines that you should follow – especially when you are not fully aware what data a scenery contains. It does no matter – FTX Global does not contain any mesh data – so their position in relation to each other is insignificant. I put a strong emphasis on this because people often ask me whether their mesh should be over FTX Global sceneries. In case a higher scenery does not contain data of the same type (or for the same area) – lower sceneries will not be overwritten. To be precise – higher sceneries overwrite only when they provide changed data. So the Vector data on top will replace vector data positioned below. The rules are simple – higher sceneries overwrite lower. (optional / deselected!) What should be on top and what needs to be lower – especially when ORBX FTX Global + Vector and openLC are installed. Do we still need OFBX FTX Global?Īnd a message to the developers. So my question is have LM improved the default ground textures in v5? In earlier versions England looked more like a desert than a green and pleasant land. The fine detail in the overhead map view is far better than v3. Both these products really do enhance the default scenery.īut after reading that LM have enhanced the textures for v5 I compared the ground scenery with and without Ultimate Terrain X and the default v5 textures were more up to date. To that I would also add Flight One’s Ultimate Terrain X which I’ve installed on all versions of P3D and FSX before that. Many of us over the lifespan of FSX and now P3D have bought ORBX products to enhance the basic simulator’s ground textures.
